The positions we bought this morning pre-market are now up 20% to 30%. I assume this is due to short covering by Citadel. I expect they acquired his portfolio at a discount and will liquidate it in the coming days for a profit. Other hedge funds are allegedly struggling too. Alongside Leo, other South Korean retail accounts heavily relying on margin trading were also liquidated this week. This is a deleveraging event and a good, healthy correction. We swapped equity back into Bitcoin, which remained stable around its $60kish floor despite the turmoil in the AI and semiconductor sectors. Either this marked the bottom of the sell-off, or there will be a bit more pain ahead. Hyperscalers & Earnings CDS spreads are elevated on the hyperscalers, but they will probably come down again when this volatility settles. MSFT posted good earnings showing solid ROI on CapEx, which the market liked. Heading into tonight, the market is a bit concerned about Amazon and other hyperscalers regarding their ROI on CapEx (e.g., Meta). However, demand and growth in the cloud segment remain strong. Portfolio Strategy & Top Picks What we want to buy now are long-term contracts with hyperscalers for power and land, for example, CIFR and WULF. Both should trade below their contract value and have good optionality for organic growth in the coming years. WULF and CIFR are my top picks right now amidst this sell-off. I think the market punished them in the short term beyond what was reasonable. I am also long in my personal account. I bought KEEL and CLSK for deal speculation, getting them cheap last night. Additionally, I bought WULF and CIFR for the family holdings in larger sizes than KEEL and CLSK, which remain more speculative.
