Balanced absolute return optimum

1) The BARO Portfolio is continuously in search for new investment opportunities meeting: i. Attractive commercial profile and strategic outlook of underlying company, ii. Attractive (absolute) valuation, iii. Strong balance sheet (low financial debt), iv. High return on equity, v. Proven track-record of underlying company (no loss making situations) ==> Each company is thoroughly assessed before being invested in: review of quarterly reports, annual reports, news search: assessment of P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow generation 2) Continuous review whether return / risk balance is still considered attractive versus on the one hand company developments, and on the other hand: equity valuation 3) Focus to avoid losses: absolute return approach in a well diversified portfolio As per 26 December this portfolio (which is an exact replica of my own portfolio with the only exception being that one bond is not included which is currently not availabe at Wikifolio) realised a return (excluding this bond) of over 20% YTD 2016. Since 2009 the portfolio has realised a return of >10% per annum whilst always being diversified with at least 8 positions (most of the time between 10-15 positions) and max allocation of any single instrument of 20%.
