Die neue Seidenstraße ist ein Großprojekt um die "alte" Handelsroute zwischen China und Europa wieder neu aufleben zu lassen. Das Projekt umfasst dabei die Verbindung des chinesischen Marktes mit dem westlichen Markt sowohl über Land- als auch Seeverbindungen. China selbst ist der Motor des Projektes und fördert die Umsetzung der neuen Seidenstraße. Beteiligt sind zahlreiche Länder durch massive Investitionen in die Infrastruktur zum Aufbau der neuen Seidenstraße.
