Investments with the aim of hedging personal desire ( i.e. investing in securities you actually want to go down) In case the portfolio does not do well, the market behaved as I wanted it to do, which is fine for me. On the other hand, if e.g. the oil price rises, etc., at least I am going to have a good portfolio performance. ------------------------------------- Update: since trading is fun apparently, i changed my "strategy" and am now trading by instinct
