[Beschreiben Sie, Ihre Erfahrung mit Wertpapieren….] Neben einer Überwinterung in der Arktis zu Forschungszwecken und langjähriger Auslandserfahrung in Nordeuropa habe ich mir speziell ein akademisches Hintergrundwissen bezüglich der nördlichen zirkumpolaren / arktischen Region angeeignet (Geopolitik, internationales Recht sowie Wirtschaft / Gesellschaft). Mit Aktien handele ich seit vielen Jahren und habe dadurch ein gewisses "self-made" Wissen über Wertpapiere und die Dynamiken der Aktienmärkte aufgebaut. Dennoch würde ich mich alllenfalls als interessierten Laien in dem Gebiet bezeichnen, um keine falsche Kompetenz vorzutäuschen. Mit meinem ersten, zusammengesparten Geld habe ich langsam ein immer größeres Vermögen aufgebaut, welches mir komplexere Investitionen in verschiedene Wertpapiere erlaubt hat. Im Zuge dieser Entwicklung habe ich mehr und mehr über Wertpapiere und Aktienmärkte gelernt. Dennoch würde ich mich - wie oben beschrieben - nicht als Aktienprofi bezeichnen. The circumpolar North is currently undergoing most dramatic changes with regard to this. As the arctic ice is melting, access to new resource deposits and sea-routes are opening up. The infrastructure in this region does therefore require multiple adaptations and extensions. Thus the arctic region currently seems to prove that the global nexus of energy demand and supply patterns does connect this seemingly remote region with the economic centers and superpowers of our time. In face of the ever faster occurring global warming, the Arctic is also intertwined in a network (and "blend") of oil and gas industry / mineral exploitation with stakes in investment, automotive / mobility sector, chemical industry and "green" technologies as well as IT and other industrial sectors. IT being very often the key in this scenario to calculate the complexity and magnitude of climate change's impacts but also to e.g. drive the development of better telecommunications, web 2.0 and e-commerce as to actively generate conditions and values for economic development and realignment of this region. Current reports (as of August 2014) indicate that investments of up to 100 billions US-Dollars are a possibility in the region within the next decade. This innovative Wikifolio, which is a tradeable financial certificate (ISIN: DE000LS9DES3) shall attempt to participate in this expected creation of value and economic development in the Arctic. Thus its perspective is rather long-term. The Wikifolio is of highest risk - and has a highly speculative profile regarding the choice and weight of the actual Wikifolio. Geographically, this Wikifolio shall almost exclusively focus on "circumpolar" stocks - i.e. stocks originating ​​from countries that are situated along the Northern Polar-Circle. Stocks ​​from other countries however can find their way into this Wikifolio as well: Given the condition, that companies are actively engaging in the region with specific projects (e.g. search for resources, research etc.). Energy, natural resources, shipping / transport and (cryo-) technology are thus naturally relevant sectors for this portfolio. Yet, there shall not be any explicit limitation to certain industries. Stocks related to sustainability and climate protection will be happily involved in the Wikifolio, but are not exclusively listed. The Wikifolio shall be actively managed and diversified (stockpicking). Stocks shall be kept for three months or more. Yet the option for daily trading and "ad hoc" and "on-demand" decisions is left available. "Stockpicking" shall be done mainly according to the the three "U" categories: under-analyzed, unpopular and underrated.
