German Top Momentum

This strategy intends to invest into the top momentum equities among the largest and most liquid German companies, whereby the market should be outperformed in the long run. A specific universe of equities should be sorted and evaluated according to technical criteria, of which a small selection are potential investment candidates. In order to protect the performance as much as possible, the portfolio is hedged with ETFs in volatile times; additionally, the long exposure during expanded bear markets should automatically decrease by the unique selection procedure. All investment decisions are 100% quantifiable in order to keep out emotions as much as possible; only a small window for human intervention exists in order to remove equities that are in special situations such as mergers or acquisitions from the selection. All algorithms and methods being used have been tested by myself for years, have beeen traded for quite some time with real money and have, in my opinion, proven their worth in a variety of different market phases. The investment horizon lies between a few days and several weeks, with hedge positions also able to be opened and closed intraday. The portfolio constantly contains up to about 10 positions, thus intending to invest in a relatively concentrated manner. This strategy is a classic swing trading system and follows a speculative orientation.
