Trading Idea

Transparency Note: As an Italian resident, I cannot invest directly in my own wikifolio, as access is currently limited to residents of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. I therefore implement the same strategy through another broker. The strategy combines Value-Quality investing with a systematic managed-futures allocation, aiming for attractive long-term risk-adjusted returns and a more resilient return path, with shallower drawdowns and greater consistency in reaching new highs. Approximately 65% is allocated to fundamentally selected equities and 35% to managed futures. 1) Value-Quality Equities: The equity portfolio targets financially strong, high-quality companies trading significantly below estimated intrinsic value. Investments generally require a Margin of Safety of at least 25% versus fair value. The analysis combines valuation metrics such as Free Cash Flow and P/E with qualitative factors including business quality, competitive advantages, financial strength, profitability, balance-sheet quality and management. The portfolio is expected to hold 10–20 companies, with position sizes based on valuation, quality, conviction and risk. There is no predefined holding period. Positions are maintained while the investment thesis remains valid and may be reduced or sold if the thesis deteriorates, a more attractive opportunity emerges, or valuation materially exceeds intrinsic value. 2) Managed Futures: Approximately 35% is allocated to a diversified managed-futures ETF, providing a distinct source of returns and portfolio diversification. Managed futures can take long and short positions across multiple asset classes and may participate in both rising and falling trends. The target allocation is approximately 65/35, with rebalancing when significant deviations occur. The portfolio is reviewed monthly. No portfolio-level short positions or leverage are used in Value-Quality Equities part; any such exposure is embedded within the managed-futures fund.
