The decision-making process should combine fundamental analysis, technical analysis and a discretionary approach. For example, macroeconomic indicators such as inflation trends, interest rate developments and geopolitical risks should be analysed to assess the broader demand for gold, which may lead to the decision to open a long position. A stop loss is usually placed between approximately 6% and 10% below the entry price to protect against downside risks as much as possible. This level can be adjusted upwards during upward trends to protect profits. Technical indicators - usually moving averages and RSI - should be used to fine-tune the stop-loss level. The intended investment horizon is short to medium term, with the average holding period ranging from a few days to several weeks.
