Overall, share prices have continued to rise in the major indices. In the USA, the increases have been even more significant. Read on to find out which stocks were particularly heavily traded on wikifolio.com in light of these conditions over the past trading week and discover some of the reasons behind this.

Fear of Missing Out with Snowflake

# Name Performance 7 Tage
1 Snowflake 34,13%
2 Barrick Gold 10,76%
3 Cloudflare 19,33%
4 RENK Group 7,52%
5 Moderna 12,38%

Snowflake stocks have been one of the standout performers on the international stock markets in recent days. The American specialist in cloud-based data storage and analytics exceeded analysts' revenue and profit estimates with its quarterly figures and has subsequently revised its forecasts accordingly both for the current and the upcoming financial year. The Management Board now expects to achieve product sales of $3.43 billion in 2025, compared to the previous forecast of just $3.36 billion. The company has also announced a long-term partnership with Anthropic, which will enable Snowflake customers to improve their AI applications in the future with the help of language models from their new partner on Snowflake's cloud-based data platforms.

Trading-Sentiment:

Confidence in future price developments also prevails among wikifolio traders. The current trading sentiment shows a clear buyer overhang for Snowflake.

Jakob Holub has been investing on a long-term basis in the US stock. In recent weeks, however, he has increased his holdings in his wikifolio Tech-Growth-Innovation and is now delighted with the share price explosion: ‘Snowflake is skyrocketing according to the latest figures! It was absolutely right to retain the stock despite the mixed performance in recent months and to slightly increase the position. Those who only buy on good news will miss the first, and usually the strongest, rally.’ His model portfolio, which he started last summer, is at an all-time high after a 57 % return. Since the beginning of this year, the value of the portfolio has risen by 32 %.

Buying the Dip with Energiekontor

# Name Performance 7 Tage
1 Alstom -6,09%
2 Sulzer -5,07%
3 Energiekontor -5,89%
4 Bitcoin Group -8,31%
5 Porsche AG Vz -8,69%

The performance of Energiekontor's share price in recent years has resembled a breathtaking rollercoaster ride. Between March 2020 and August 2022, the share price initially increased by more than fivefold, but then plummeted by almost 60 %. This trend prompted wikifolio trader Dieter Steinfeld, who invests in Energiekontor via his wikifolio Sehen-Erkennen-Handeln to make rather frustrated comments such as ‘The stock market no longer has anything to do with companies’ or ‘The stock market has gone mad’.

With his comments, the trader was referring to the statement made by the CEO in the summer that the developer and operator of wind and solar parks is close to reaching its total capacity of all projects that have ever been realised since the company was founded and that more projects than ever before have now progressed to the mature development phase. Despite this, Energiekontor's share price has stabilised in recent days after the company confirmed its annual targets. Although the company traditionally does not present concrete figures at this time, the pre-tax profit target of between € 30 million and € 70 million is still achievable. Ultimately, however, it is likely to achieve no more than midway between these targets.

Gerold Dukat has already had a long-term investment in Energiekontor via his wikifolio Aschenputtell, which he opened at the beginning of 2015. In the portfolio, which currently comprises a broad mix of around 50 different stocks, Energiekontor is in the midfield with a weighting of around 2 %. With his focus on selected second-line stocks from German-speaking countries, the trader has so far been able to generate a performance of 151 % or around 10 % on average across the year. Stocks which have a strong stream of positive news, low valuations and high dividends are favoured. Energiekontor currently has a dividend yield of 3.0 % due to the massive fall in its share price. Since 2018, the dividend payout has at the very least, maintained its level. In fact, it has even tripled during this period from € 0.40 to € 1.20.

Taking Profit with Salesforce

# Name Performance 7 Tage
1 Secunet Security 6,94%
2 Salesforce.com 6,39%
3 Paycom Software 6,06%
4 Bavarian Nordic 16,15%
5 Costco Wholesale 7,80%

As we speak, stocks in Salesforce, the world's leading provider of CRM solutions, are on their way to hitting a new all-time high, with its share price rising by a good 6 % in the past week. Since bottoming out at around $ 213 at the end of May, it has now risen by a good 60 %. One of the factors driving this upward trend has been the strategic cooperation forged with Nvidia in September to develop advanced AI functions for companies. More recently, the Agentforce Testing Centre platform has been launched, which enables companies to test autonomous AI agents safely and precisely before integrating them into productive environments. Salesforce also enables the use of AI agents that can communicate with customers and exchange goods or place orders without human assistance with little effort or programming knowledge and in the shortest possible time. These are factors which appeal to many investors today.

Trading-Sentiment:

In this current climate, several wikifolio traders have decided to capitalise on at least some of their gains.

One such trader is Sascha Huber, who sold a small number of Salesforce stocks from his wikifolio Stockpicking Worldwide last week. The trader was able to realise a profit of a whopping 85 %. The book profit on the stock which still has a weighting of just over 2 % is currently 50 %. The portfolio, which boasts a good diversification of 42 shares, has just risen to a new record high and has achieved an average annual performance of a solid 11 % after a period of 12 years. In total, this represents a growth in share price of 264 %.

Jumping the Ship with HIVE Blockchain Technologies

# Name Performance 7 Tage
1 Silvercorp Metals -11,16%

The euphoria surrounding cryptocurrencies has known no bounds since the clear election victory of US President-elect Donald Trump. Bitcoin climbed very close to the $ 100,000 mark on Friday evening, having been trading at around $ 70,000 before the US elections.

wikifolio trader Thomas Steindl is benefiting in particular from this development due to the fact that his wikifolio High Growth Stocks is currently heavily centred around the crypto space. Semler Scientific ranks as the top performer with almost 80 % allocation, followed by Microstrategy with 15 %. In his opinion, the end of this exciting trend is not yet in sight: ‘With a possible easing of regulations, growth could gain further momentum and open up new opportunities for investors.’

Last week, however, he sold off his stake in the Canadian company HIVE Digital Technologies, taking a profit of around 24 % in the process. The company chiefly operates data centres powered by green energy, mines cryptocurrencies and acts as a bridge between the digital currency and blockchain sector and the traditional capital markets. Following the quarterly figures published in mid-November, its share price briefly rose to its highest level since mid-2023 before profit-taking set in. In the previous week, it had fallen by a further 7 %. For Steindl, this may have been the reason to jump ship.

According to the trader himself, he learnt the basics of trading at an early age after his father ‘awakened a passion for the stock market’ in him when he was just 16 years old. With a focus on ‘high-opportunity, high-growth stocks with above-average performance’, he is striving for an ambitious average annual return of at least 30 %.

Since the perfectly timed launch of wikifolio in March 2020, however, the trader has even managed to easily top this target. The price increase of 575 % since then represents an average annual gain of more than 50 %. He was of course aided by the crypto hype, which has caused the portfolio value to rise by 128 % just in the past three (!) months. However, the maximum drawdown of around 59 % to date shows how volatile the wikifolio's price movements can be.
