Der Global Platform Index 20 umfasst 20 Unternehmen, welche ausschließlich oder einen wesentlichen Teil ihres Geschäfts in Form der Plattform-Ökonomie abbilden. Dadurch sind sie z.T. disruptiv tätig und "erfinden" ganze Branchen, ja sogar ganze Märkte neu. Wesentliches Kennzeichen aller Unternehmen ist es, dass sie nicht wie klassische "Pipeline-Unternehmen" Wertschöpfung generieren, sondern aus der Plattform-Ökonomie ihren Nutzen ziehen (z.B. durch Netzwerk-Effekte). Diese Eigenschaft wird sich mittel- bis langfristig an der Börse auszahlen.
