Trading Idea
This portfolio strategy aims for long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in stock index ETFs and individual stocks, with smaller allocations to (possibly) bonds and cash for stability. The focus is on major US market indices. Handpicked individual stocks emphasize the technology sector but include diverse sectors and regions, primarily from the US and Europe. Allocations to single stocks can be large, hence the strategy can be volatile. The strategy does not trade any structured products and does not anyhow use leverage. Risk management involves regular monitoring, rebalancing, and the use of fundamental and technical analysis. Market sentiment is an important measure for short term allocation. Performance can be measured against benchmarks like the S&P 500 or the Nasdaq 100 (for purely tech-oriented investores). The strategy uses short-term trading to avoid turbulent market situations. Hence it is primarily used to exit positions when the probability of falling prices is expected to rise. Note that short-term trading is used as a measure to avoid risk (investment level control), not to increase risky positions for short-term profit. The idea here is, that especially the tech sector can be very volatile in short time frames and show turnarounds. The strategy aims to stay out of such situations.
