Durch den Einsatz von langlaufenden "out of the money" Optionsscheinen wird bei Einsatz eines Trends eine Alpha generierung unabhängig der Marktlage angestebt. Dabei wird er Grundsatz berüchsichtigt, das der Wert eines OS im laufe des Trends stärker an Wert gewinnt, als der gegengesetzte OS verliert. Im günstigsten Fall gewinnt ein OS mehr als 100% an Wert, während das Gegenstück weiterhin einen Zeitwert enthält, aber nicht mehr als 100% verlieren kann.
