Trading Idea
This wikifolio is aiming to exclusively invest in corporations who adapted the concept of value based management. The essential idea of value based management, based on Rappaport and \ further developed by several management consultancies, is to control corporations no longer through traditional key performance indicators (KPIs), but through such KPIs that e.g. take the weighted average cost of capital into account, in order avoid the weaknesses of traditional KPIs. This approach prevents short-sighted decision making and leads the corporate management to maximize shareholder value. Renowned economists have performed empiric studies on the subject and found a positive correlation between stock performance and the use of a value based corporate management. If a corporation is adapting value based management is determined on base of its annual report. In principle, the portfolio can include companies from various global locations and markets. The market potential as well as the company size (market capitalization) represent the main conditions for the share of the corporations in the portfolio. Since this wikifolio is specifically meant to project my academic findings, only companies that I examined or will examine in this context will be traded. The holding period depends on the corporate structure, stock performance and management approach. As soon as a corporation is no longer adapting value based management, the company will be removed from the portfolio, disregarding its overall performance. My current research is based on 100 companies, but this number will increase over time. The aim of the portfolio is to hold stocks of about 40 companies, based on the criteria mentioned above.
